This room has been through a transformation over the years. When we first bought this house back in 2017, our back 2 room were meant to be for when guests came by or when one of our kids needed a place to crash. I never thought that this room would be occupied for years at a time. I didn’t mind that it was one of our children, but man! My creativity definitely went into hibernation, but it was never far from my thoughts as to how I wanted this room to look. From time to time over the years, I’ve been wanting to expand my design chops and really do something amazing in this room. Well, now that my son moved out, and my oldest is now occupying this space, I wanted to just put a little of a Mochagirl spin on it. I think it turned out beautifully, so let me give you some details..

First off, let’s talk cost. I didn’t spend a lot of money in this room- 1. I didn’t want to 2. Most of the items in this space I already had and finally, 3. I’m a firm believer of repurposing what you have or thrifting item to get the cost down even more. See? It’s all about balance. The wood slats I have on this wall were leftover from a previous project and the color I chose for the wall is from Behr called Black Mocha.
When it comes to my wall lights, was fortunate enough to win a giveaway. Listen, I NEVER win anything and I won a $1000 from Mitzi Lighting. I love all of their products so finding these beautiful plug in light sconces was so easy. Here are some similar ones.

an we just give a big shout out to this beautiful mirror from The Jungalow for Target? I mean, everything from The Jungalow is right up my alley to include the bed quilt. These were probably the only two items I specifically bought for this room and they were on sale. You can find the entire collection here.
The rest of the galley of photos include different views of this room to include the gorgeous wicker piece that I found off of Facebook Marketplace years ago and was originally hang on the main wall in this room as a headboard. There are so many ways you can transform a space just by using the things around your home that you already have. It worked for me- I hope it will work for you. Here is a rundown of things I actually bought for this room-
Palm Mirror- $120 (I think I got mine on sale for $80), 1 Gallon of paint- $37, Ceiling Light Fixture- $40, Bed Sheets- $60 and the bed frame- $109
