A Room To Remember

This room has been through a transformation over the years. When we first bought this house back in 2017, our back 2 room were meant to be for when guests came by or when one of our kids needed a place to crash. I never thought that this room would be occupied for years at a time. I didn’t mind that it was one of our children, but man! My creativity definitely went into hibernation, but it was never far from my thoughts as to how I wanted this room to look. From time to time over the years, I’ve been wanting to expand my design chops and really do something amazing in this room. Well, now that my son moved out, and my oldest is now occupying this space, I wanted to just put a little of a Mochagirl spin on it. I think it turned out beautifully, so let me give you some details..

“The Best Time For New Beginnings Is Now”

First off, let’s talk cost. I didn’t spend a lot of money in this room- 1. I didn’t want to 2. Most of the items in this space I already had and finally, 3. I’m a firm believer of repurposing what you have or thrifting item to get the cost down even more. See? It’s all about balance. The wood slats I have on this wall were leftover from a previous project and the color I chose for the wall is from Behr called Black Mocha.

When it comes to my wall lights, was fortunate enough to win a giveaway. Listen, I NEVER win anything and I won a $1000 from Mitzi Lighting. I love all of their products so finding these beautiful plug in light sconces was so easy. Here are some similar ones.

an we just give a big shout out to this beautiful mirror from The Jungalow for Target? I mean, everything from The Jungalow is right up my alley to include the bed quilt. These were probably the only two items I specifically bought for this room and they were on sale. You can find the entire collection here.

The rest of the galley of photos include different views of this room to include the gorgeous wicker piece that I found off of Facebook Marketplace years ago and was originally hang on the main wall in this room as a headboard. There are so many ways you can transform a space just by using the things around your home that you already have. It worked for me- I hope it will work for you. Here is a rundown of things I actually bought for this room-

Palm Mirror- $120 (I think I got mine on sale for $80), 1 Gallon of paint- $37, Ceiling Light Fixture- $40, Bed Sheets- $60 and the bed frame- $109

Thanks for reading! Until next time,

      Tracey

I've never been to an all white party. Until last year. I had 2 events in which wearing all white was on the menu, and I had absolutely NOTHING white(except for t-shirts and a couple of pants) So in a panic, I bought a bunch of stuff and now I'm looking for an all white party to go to so I can break these babies out. 377 102
I'm just so happy with the way these pillows turned out with my collaboration with Lindsay @madamofmaking showcasing my beautiful @spoonflower fabric! They compliment my space so well, and I also love the fact that most of them are reversible. 184 33
Why not have fun while you clean.😆 These cute mop slippers are perfect for those who hate to clean. They're simple, easy, and very effective. Would you try them? You can find them on my Amazon storefront (link in bio) 85 16
I love the way my home is looking right now. It doesn't fit an interior design mold, and that's how I like it. It has that, "Something old, something new, something borrowed but nothing blue vibe..." 187 23
I asked you all earlier in the week which dress you liked the best from the 3 I showed you, and NONE of you said this one, and it was by far my FAVORITE!! This vibrant sundress from @walmartfashion is so versatile and extremely comfortable. Would you try any of these looks, or maybe you can find inspiration from my outfits and create looks like this for yourself 🧡 500 81
This gallery wall is coming along nicely. The great thing about gallery walls is that you can add to, take away, or just change up the artwork or accessories for a completely different look. Do you have a gallery wall? If so, what's your favorite piece??? 266 25
