So, here we are. The final push to finish the New Year, New Room Challenge. This challenge has actually been one of my easier challenges to do because of the area I chose to redo. My dining area already looked great, but I wanted to see that if I just made a few key changes to the space using paint, fabric and wallpaper, it would look like a completely different room. I think I accomplished that. The last 3 things on my list to complete are – 1. Hang a new light fixture. The one that was there was fine but I won new lighting in a giveaway and it just works better.(and it’s gorgeous!)

2. Add a new rug. When I tell you I measured this area about 10 times to make sure I picked the right size for this space because I was freaked out that I would get the wrong size and then I’d be screwed!! My dining room is in the corner and it can sometimes be a challenge to place a rug unless I have a round one. I decided to try again with an 8×10 rug and my friends over at Ruggable sent me the washable rug that was meant to be in my home!
3. FINALLY! Time to paint these chairs! I don’t know what my hold up has been. I mean, the cushions have been recovered and are waiting patiently for the chairs to be finished. I’m happy to say that this project is in the middle of being done!

In the end, this refresh was a lot of fun to do. I love curating pieces and watching it all come together. I also learned something about myself as well when it comes to design. Design doesn’t have to be in cookie cutter form. It can be wild and unique and a little messy. As long as when you look at it and it makes you smile, well I’m here to tell you, you did good.
That’s how I see it anyway….💚
Check out the other gals in this challenge as they push to the finish line. Final reveal is next week and I can’t wait to show it all to you!
So until next time,
XO, Tracey
